Derry Dam Footbridge
Derry Dam Footbridge - 22nd July 2009
Derry Dam Footbridge is the footbridge over Uisge an Doire in Gleann Doire.
Derry Dam Footbridge was one of three footbridges in the Cairngorms paid for by the Nature Conservancy, and designed by George Taylor of the Cairngorm Club, and Aberdeen University. Pre-fabricated - the parts, and materials were brought in by helicopter, and erected by volunteers in 1959.
The footbridge stands in the evident breach through the pre-historic Derry Dam through which Uisge an Doire flows.
