In this episode Tom Weir visits the upland of Mar (Braes O' Mar) beginning with a conversation will 'Nell' Bynack about her childhood at Bynack Lodge.  He then returns to the beginnings of the Jacobite Rising of 1715 and the aftermath of the Jacobite Rising of 1745 and the participation of Peter Grant who was born at the farm of An Dubh-bhruach in Gleann Dhé.

He then talks with Colin McIntosh about the creation of the Wheel Wrights Friendly Society and how that organisation became the Braemar Royal Highland Society - the organisation behind the annual Braemar Gathering.
